How registries and registrars can efficiently meet new cooperation obligations<\/strong><\/p>\n

The German implementation law for the NIS2 Directive has been in force since 6 December 2025<\/strong>, and Article 28 poses significant operational challenges for registries, registrars, resellers<\/strong>, and privacy\/proxy service providers<\/strong>. As EU Member States advance with their national implementations, the urgency for all stakeholders to act is steadily increasing.<\/p>\n

To support the industry, eco \u2013 Association of the Internet Industry<\/strong> presents a flexible contract template<\/strong> designed to seamlessly integrate the requirements of Article 28 into existing Registry-Registrar Agreements (RRAs). This solution, created by Thomas Rickert<\/strong>, Attorney-at-Law and long-time Director Names & Numbers at eco, has already been showcased as a best practice<\/em> at ICANN.<\/p>\n
